Web Developer, Web Experience

As a Web Engineer at Figma, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining our web platform. You will be responsible for working with a cross-functional team of designers, marketers, data scientists and engineers to develop and maintain Figma's marketing site and designsystems.com. You will be working with a variety of modern web technologies including React , (Gatsby/Contentful), Typescript, GraphQL, headless CMS (Sanity/Contentful) and other NodeJS based frameworks . Your role will also include collaborating on OKR planning, roadmapping, onboarding new team members and manag ing vendor relationships.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the continental United States.
What you'll be doing :

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain features for Figma's marketing site and other web surfaces.
• You'll own the website stack from top-to-bottom: developing/maintaining code and working with our engineering growth/ infrastructure team s to ensure that it is reliable, performant, and secure .
• Be a key driver of foundational technologies that will scale us into the future through direct leadership and stakeholder influence.
• Experience in designing and implementing scalable web architecture, including knowledge of hosting and distributed systems (e.g. AWS, CloudFront)
• Manage projects end-to-end - manage timelines, stakeholder expectations, handle ticket triaging, and regularly communicate updates to teammates and leadership.
• Collaborate on OKR planning and roadmapping with product managers and other stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers on the team.
• Help onboard new team members and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise.
• Stay up to date with the latest web technologies and make recommendations for improvements to the tech stack as appropriate.
• Onboard new teammates and vendors , as well as manage relationships with vendors.

You might be a good fit it you have:

• Strong knowledge of React / Typescrip t and frameworks ( NextJS, Gatsby ) as well as headless CMS frameworks (Sanity, Contentful).
• Proven experience with backend technologies and frameworks (NodeJS, Express), and database operation/management.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD strategy and deployment processes.
• Experience with caching and other techniques used to optimize performance.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Equally motivated by quantitative and experiential outcomes
• Experience working on SEO-driven projects, localization, performance optimization & experimentation.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with OKR planning, roadmapping, and onboarding is a plus.
