Webtoon Letterer

We are seeking a talented graphic designer to handle the lettering responsibilities for a 60 episode Webtoon series. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of typography and design principles, be proficient in digital tools and software, and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. Familiarity with Webtoon series and/or web comic lettering a plus. 

Responsibilities:

• Creating and adding lettering to a web comic series
• Create comic sound effects (SFX) and dialogue bubbles/balloons 
• Balloon placement: Deciding where to place the speech balloons and captions within the comic panels, taking into account the flow of the story and the positioning of the characters.
• Font selection: Collaborate with the creative team to choose appropriate fonts and styles that fit with the tone and style of the web comic and enhance the reading experience.
• Collaborate with writers and artists and incorporate their feedback and suggestions into the final product
• Editing and proofreading

Skills: 

• Strong understanding of typography and design principles
• Attention to detail. Must have an eye for detail and be able to catch any errors or inconsistencies in the lettering, such as typos or incorrect placement
• Familiarity with digital tools and proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop and Indesign
• Excellent communicator who can collaborate effectively with the writer and artist, understand their vision and preferences, and provide feedback and suggestions as needed.
• Ability to receive and incorporate constructive feedback and creative notes into work deliverables

Additional Information:

• Final deliverable schedule: Our production schedule runs at a weekly pace, so you will be expected to complete one 55 to 60 panel episode per week. 

Per Episode Rate: $100
Payment will be made on a per-episode basis, with a specified price per episode.
