Job Purpose
Courtesy patrol regularly patrols the designated community and monitors for any suspicious or criminal activity as well as other safety concerns. This position will report concerns to community management and/or local authorities for direction.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; noting suspicious activities and taking appropriate action notifying law enforcement and management as needed.
• Investigates incidents of suspicious activity on the property. When the safety of oneself or others is in question, the Courtesy Patrol will first reach out to management or law enforcement for guidance.
• Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.
• Conducts routine patrols throughout community interior and exterior.
• Assists residents, guests, and team members with questions and concerns.
• Enforces community facility rules.
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
• After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
• Monitors opportunities for theft, vandalism, fire, and illegal entry by unauthorized persons.
• Greets all residents and authorized guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Verbal and written skills for effective communication.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgement, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn the layout of the community.
Working Conditions
This position works within the building and on community grounds, within the Senior Living Community, where there may be possible exposure to communicable diseases and infection, exposure to latex, possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens, possible exposure to various chemical, infectious, or biological hazards, and possible exposure to pets. This position is required to wear the designated True Connection Communities work attire and must wear a name tag at all times.
