Job Duties & Responsibilities • Is a Lean Innovator • Work safely at all times, adhere to the shop safety rules, and ensure the safety of others • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tack welds pieces • Welds appropriate fabricated pieces according to instructions & details • Welds using techniques (Welding Procedure Specifications) established by AWS • Attention to detail, use squares to ensure a 90-degree corner, make clean lines and cuts when welding • Uses appropriate welding equipment and maintains the equipment in good working order • Will solder or braze when details or “see drawings” call for it • Fabricate carts or other items for shop use • Follow Kanban policy to replace and maintain welding supplies • Maintain a clean and orderly work area by starting the work period with “3S” • Always be willing to help others as a team player These duties are not exclusive and with consideration of the job requirements and other skills, the job description can be added to or taken away from at the discretion of the employee’s immediate supervisor. Job Skills and Requirements • Good communication skills • Completion of a OmniDuct entry training period • Completion of the OmniDuct training for welding techniques and shop Welding Procedure Specifications for each gauge of metal that the shop is qualified for according to AWS • Training for SMACNA welding requirements for HVAC Duct • Welding work involves repeated stooping, bending, twisting, leaning, reaching, grasping, standing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs., using hand tools and powered machinery. In addition, employees will hear, speak, touch, and see products, tools, and machinery. • Regular, timely attendance.
