To support our growth, we are searching for a Welder in our West Chester facility.
Position Summary:
Will be responsible for TIG welding of stainless-steel items: including the review of layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, to the final inspection of the work piece for conformance to specifications. Responsible for maintaining product quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
β’ Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams or work orders in preparation for welding metal components
β’ Position work pieces and clamps together or assemble in jigs or fixtures
β’ Insert electrode into holder and connect hoses and cables to obtain specified amperage, voltage or polarity
β’ Install torch according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal
β’ TIG weld metal parts or components together
β’ Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increase sizes in metal parts, using welding equipment
β’ Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead position
β’ Peening (sandblasting)
β’ Clean or degrease parts, using wire brush or portable grinder
β’ Meet work deadlines established by the Company
β’ Inspect finished work piece for conformance to specifications
β’ Participate in housekeeping program of the Company for the production shop floor
β’ Comply with the Companyβs maintenance program
β’ Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
β’ Control operation of equipment or systems
β’ Install equipment to meet specifications
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
β’ Five years working experience in TIG welding operations on stainless steel of low thicknesses.
β’ Two years working experience in lean environment
β’ Knowledge of raw materials, of welding tools, production processes/methods, materials and the ability to provide and inspect for quality control
β’ Visualization β The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged
β’ Information Ordering β Ability to arrange actions/steps in sequential order; to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)
β’ Ability to work in a team
β’ Ability to interact in an effective and professional manner with all levels of the organization
β’ Maintain adherence of Company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices
