Welder

About the Role: As a Welder in our Chicago machine shop, you will play a crucial role in the production process by ensuring the integrity and quality of metal components. Your primary responsibility will be to perform various welding techniques according to specifications. You will be expected to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements and ensure precision in your work. Additionally, you will collaborate with other team members to maintain a safe and efficient work environment while adhering to industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities: • MIG welding of mild and stainless steel and aluminum. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. • Conduct quality checks on welded components to ensure compliance with standards. • Operate overhead cranes and other machinery safely to transport materials. • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve welding issues. • Balance and straighten tubing and/or rollers. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Proven experience in welding, specifically MIG techniques. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Certification in welding from an accredited institution a plus. • Experience welding mild and stainless steel. • Familiarity with metal fabrication processes.
