Welder II

Atlas Ship Repair is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our team. The candidate with report directly to the Production Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components using various welding techniques. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. Prepare metal surfaces for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning. Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Assemble metal components and structures according to specifications. Inspect and test welded joints for structural integrity and quality. Maintain welding equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning. Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Document work completed and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors. Minimum Skills & Abilities • Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or construction environment. • Proficiency in various welding techniques and equipment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
