Welder / Ironworker Cano Steel Inc. – Southern California About Us Cano Steel Inc. is a licensed and insured steel subcontractor specializing in the fabrication and erection of structural steel for commercial projects across Southern California.. We are looking to expand our crew with reliable and skilled professionals who are ready to grow with us. Position:Welder / Ironworker Location:Southern California (projects vary by site – travel required) Employment Type:Full-time Responsibilities • Perform structural steel welding (field and shop as needed) in compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.3 standards. • Weld using SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), andFCAW (flux core)processes. • Assist with erection of columns, beams, joists, and decking. • Read and interpret construction drawings and shop drawings. • Safely rig, hoist, and install steel members using proper tools and equipment. • Operate tools and machinery including welders, torches, grinders, lifts, and rigging equipment. • Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times. • Collaborate with foremen and other crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of experience as a welder, ironworker, or structural steel installer. • Proficient influx core (FCAW), stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and TIG (GTAW) welding. • Ability to read blueprints and structural steel drawings. • Familiarity with rigging, bolting, and decking installation. • Comfortable working at heights and in various outdoor conditions. • Reliable transportation to job sites across Southern California. • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to safety. Preferred (but not required) • Current welding certifications (AWS D1.1/D1.3, FCAW). • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. • Experience operating forklifts, boom lifts, or scissor lifts.
