Job Title: Certified Welder

Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday – Friday)

Position Summary
The Certified Welder performs a wide range of routine to complex manual, automatic, and/or semi-automatic welding tasks using a variety of equipment on high-temperature and high-strength aerospace alloys. Work is performed according to blueprints, layouts, welding procedures, and work instructions, supporting both commercial and military fabrications. The role requires precision, adherence to AWS D17.1 standards, and collaboration with engineering teams to develop and improve welding processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate manual and automatic GTAW (TIG) welding systems following work instructions and best practices.
• Position, adjust, and secure fixtures, attachments, and workpieces using hand tools and precision measuring devices.
• Adjust weld settings within procedural limits to ensure conformance to standards.
• Interpret and apply product drawings, process documentation, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
• Perform proper pre-weld cleaning, handling, and post-weld inspection of parts.
• Conduct visual inspections and use measuring devices to ensure weld quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work environment.
• Obtain and maintain certifications for welding on multiple exotic alloys (Haynes 188, Hastelloy X, Inconel 718, L-605).
• Troubleshoot welding equipment and processes as needed.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and training support to less experienced welders.
• Partner with Engineering to develop and refine welding processes, procedures, and tooling.
• Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of welding or related experience, with demonstrated ability to perform advanced welding tasks.
• AWS D17.1 GTAW (TIG) certification (minimum 1G required; 1–6G positions acceptable).
• Experience with orbital GTAW equipment (Orbitalum, AMI, or equivalent): setup, programming, and operation.
• Skilled in welding aerospace alloys (Haynes 188, Hastelloy X, Inconel 718, L-605).
• Knowledge of purge systems, backing gas control, WPS/WPQ/QTR execution, and post-weld inspection methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
• Strong manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
• Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to process improvement.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
