Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder Fabricator to join our team specializing in the repair and fabrication of steel containers and industrial compactors. This is a full-time position requiring commitment to high-quality workmanship, particularly during the busy season with mandatory overtime.
You will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing critical equipment, ensuring efficient and safe operation. Using modern maintenance tracking tools and technology, you'll contribute to an efficient and productive operation.
Key Responsibilities:
• MIG Welding Repairs:
Perform MIG welding to repair and restore steel containers and compactors, including hydraulics, structural components, damaged walls, rusted floors, and cracked metal structures.
• Fabrication Support:
Assist the lead fabricator with projects, including custom fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Torch and Plasma Cutting:
Use torch burning and plasma cutting tools to prepare materials and complete repair tasks effectively.
• Equipment Operation:
Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to move materials and components safely within the worksite.
• Maintenance Documentation:
Monitor, document, and report work progress using maintenance tracking systems and ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
• Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years (preferred).
• Education: High school diploma required; AA degree in Welding Technology (preferred).
• Certifications:
• Welding Certification (preferred).
• AWS/CWI Certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques.
• Experience with hydraulics repair and metal fabrication.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Climbing & stooping also required.
Compensation
• $24-34/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications
