Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Shop Welders/Fabricators for an immediate start in New Britain, PA! WEEKLY PAY -- LONG TERM & FULL TIME! • PAY:$23-$26/hour (based upon experience) • HOURS:Shifts will be 8-hour workdays, 5 days per week (40 hours/week) • SCHEDULE:Workdays will be Monday-Friday; 6:00am – 3:00pm • START DATE:ASAP • DURATION:Temp-to-Hire Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientedShop Welder/Fabricatorto join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and operational testing of custom equipment and machines. You will work with a variety of tools, machinery, and welding processes to produce high-quality components that meet engineering specifications. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to precision and safety. Key Responsibilities: • Fabricate and perform operational testing of machines and equipment • Operate tools and machinery including grinders, band saws, plasma cutters, mag drills, hand drills, levels, squares, welders, shearing machines, and sheet metal break machines • Perform tasks from blueprints and drawings, such as drilling, tapping, and welding • Repair and retrofit used equipment according to engineering specifications • Apply paint using rollers and spray guns as needed • Operate lift equipment and perform rigging tasks when required • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety procedures • Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations Requirements: • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills • Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings • Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding setup and operation • Experience using hand tools, measuring devices, and machine shop equipment • Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and layout • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines • Able to stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 50 lbs without assistance • Willingness to obtain welding certification if required • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English • Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted. • Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves Preferred Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent • 3–5 years of machine fabrication experience or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience working with sheet metal • Welding certification preferred Additional Requirements: • Must be eligible to work in the United States • Must have reliable transportation to the job site • Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required • Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER!
