Wire EDM Operator

Overview TrendHR is seeking a skilledWire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) Operatorto join our client's manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, programming, and operating Wire EDM machines to produce high-quality parts with tight tolerances. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Key Responsibilities • Set up, program, and operate Wire EDM machines to manufacture precision components. • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and work instructions to ensure parts meet specifications. • Select appropriate tooling, electrodes, and machine settings for each job. • Monitor machining processes, making adjustments to maintain tolerances and surface finishes. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.). • Maintain accurate records of production runs, quality checks, and machine performance. • Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or machining coursework preferred). • 2+ years of experience operating Wire EDM machines (Mitsubishi, Makino, Sodick, or equivalent). • Experience with Esprit CAM software or SolidWorks CAD software required. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T. • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments. • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. • Knowledge of CNC programming or CAM software is a plus. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
