Wok Chef - Chinese Cuisine

Overview Ocean Palace is seeking ahighly skilled, experienced Wok Chefwith at least10 years of Chinese restaurant experienceto join our kitchen team. This role is for professionals who take pride in speed, precision, and consistency. You will be responsible for producing a variety of classic wok dishes in a fast-paced environment, maintaining traditional cooking standards and flavors expected by our loyal guests. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and cook traditional Chinese dishes using wok techniques (stir-fry, deep-fry, pan-fry, etc.) • Maintain proper food prep, cooking methods, and plate presentation to company standards. • Work efficiently on the line during peak service hours. • Control portion sizes and minimize food waste. • Ensure all food leaving the station is consistent in taste, texture, and quality. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wok station. • Communicate effectively with BOH team, expeditors, and managers. • Follow health and safety guidelines at all times. • Contribute to training and mentoring of junior wok station staff if needed. Qualifications • 10+ yearsof experience in a high-volume Chinese restaurant kitchen. • Strong mastery ofwok cooking techniquesand Chinese culinary methods. • Deep understanding of traditional Chinese ingredients, sauces, and recipes. • Ability to handle fast-paced kitchen environments while maintaining quality. • Must bepunctual, disciplined, andteam-oriented. • Ability to stand for long hours and work in a hot kitchen environment. • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualities • Bilingual (English and Cantonese/Mandarin or Spanish) is a plus. • Leadership experience in training or mentoring line cooks is a bonus.
