The job posting is for a Senior PostgreSQL DBA position in Parsippany, NJ. The role is long-term and hybrid, requiring 3 days onsite per week. The ideal candidate should have 12+ years of PostgreSQL DBA experience, PostgreSQL replication experience, SQL coding and tuning experience, shell scripting and automation experience, and experience with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, RDS, Aurora). The candidate should also have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL PGAdmin client connectivity tool, cloud deployments (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Terraform), and strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Other desired skills include understanding of PostgreSQL's underlying storage engines, ability to handle common database procedures, expert level PostgreSQL RDBMS installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, performance tracking, tuning, backup, recovery, remote monitoring skills, and strong commitment to following SDLC and Change Management principles. Strong communication skills, experience with ticketing tools, and problem-solving skills are also required. A bachelor's degree or similar is required. Additional plus points include ability to diagnose problems across various tiers, implement automation, experience with DB2 UDB, Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, and configuration management tools (SCCM, Puppet, Ansible). Development or enhancement of training and upskilling programs is also a plus.
