The Test Equipment Software Engineer is responsible for designing developing testing and maintaining Betas suite of software that operates our critical test equipment including motor qualification systems battery management systems avionics bus validation and production acceptance systems This test equipment ensures Betas systems and aircraft are performing their intended function at optimum performance The software embedded in these systems requires diligent specification design and implementation to meet critical timing and accuracy requirements The Test Equipment Software Engineer will utilize a combination of offtheshelf software systems and inhouse developed systems to ensure the test equipment is correctly supplying inputs and verifying outputs for all levels of test from embedded software requirementsbased verification to hardware qualification to integrated aircraft systems Essential Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li>Develop test equipment software specifications to define the operating characteristics and functionality of the test equipment for the intended test level<li> <li>Design and implement the software that drives the test equipment ensuring compliance to the test equipment specifications and industry regulations<li> <li>Utilize offtheshelf systems such as Speedgoat and other specialized equipment to provide cohesive and comprehensive test platforms in combination with specially developed software<li> <li>Integrate test equipment into Continuous Integration pipelines to achieve rapid automated hardwareintheloop modelintheloop and softwareintheloop testing<li> <li>Diagnose troubleshoot and help resolve problems identified by test equipment in systems under test<li> <li>Provide feedback to the engineering design team on test equipment limitations and constraints to ensure accurate and feasible testability of systems hardware and software<li> <ul>Minimum Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities <ul><li>Bachelors degree in software engineering or relevant field and 3 years of prior relevant experience<li> <li>In absence of a degree 5 years of relevant experience is required<li> <li>Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and assignments<li> <li>Ability to effectively work crossfunctionally and influence advise and direct members outside the direct reporting structure to perform job requirements and meet deadlines<li> <ul>Preferred Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities <ul><li>Proficient in C C++ Python or other programming and scripting languages<li> <li>Experience using MatLabSimulink or similar to integrate and deliver highly reliable test solutions<li> <li>Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and understanding embedded software operation<li> <li>Strong bus communication and data analysis skills particularly CANbus<li> <li>Experience with safetycritical systems development in a regulated industry automotive aerospace medical etc<li> <ul> Must be able to work onsite at Betas engineering headquarters in South Burlington VT This position may require working in a highvoltage environment Lifting and moving of electronic equipment and computers up to 50 lbs may be required Must be a US citizen Each of our backgrounds influences how we evaluate our own abilities Research reveals that BIPOC LGBTQ+ women those from workingclass backgrounds individuals with disabilities and other marginalized groups may hesitate to apply for roles if they dont meet all the requirements Many skills can be learned on the job If you can envision contributing value to our community and meet most criteria we encourage you to apply BETA Technologies provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race color religion age sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin ancestry place of birth citizenship disability veteran or military status health coverage status HIV status genetic information crime victim status pregnancy or a pregnancyrelated condition or any other characteristic protected by state federal or local law The company does not discriminate and will not discriminate and will not tolerate discrimination based on any of these characteristics during the application process or in employment All offers of employment at BETA Technologies are contingent upon favorable results of a thorough background check BETA Technologies is an EVerify employer
