As a .Net/C# Developer at Octo you will be responsible for supporting an InterSystems Cache/IRIS environment. You will have broad knowledge of data sources/flow interactions of complex systems and capabilities/limitations of systems software and computer equipment. The .Net/C# Developer will be able to establish frameworks for new computer systems from feasibility studies to post implementation evaluation recognize probable conflicts and integrate diverse data sources. They will provide innovative solutions for a variety of complex problems and prepare overall project recommendations. Strongly prefer recent experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Program Mission…

This program for the Department of Veterans Affairs will provide sustainment and support of core functions to maintain operations of CDW platforms and BISL services.

Responsibilities…

• Support software monitoring applications and tools and work towards modernization to later standards.
• Develop new monitoring applications and tools including scripting and LinuxOS monitoring.
• Work with external Linux distribution partner engineering teams to package and distribute Linux software.
• Work across internal engineering teams (Kubernetes Operating Systems/kernel Open Source etc.)
• Troubleshoot Linux issues to root cause and fix software and infrastructure issues.
• General knowledge of Linux Server platforms – Red Hat CentOS. Ubuntu Oracle Linux SuSE Linux; specifically application packaging evaluation and lifecycle support.
• Data Check Management: Develop enhancements to the Data Check methods used to compare site databases with shadow-copies of site databases.
• Data Quality: Address any Data Quality issues between the VistA sites and the CDW shadow-copies of the sites.
• Other Technical Tasks: Software tool management system monitoring site migrations and upgrades eHRM/Cerner Support VX-130 Support and CDW initiative coordination.

Years of Experience: Requires at least 5+ years .Net/C# development experience. Prefer experience supporting an InterSystems Cache/IRIS environment. Strongly prefer experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related area. 8 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Location: Remote within U.S. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. Must be eligible to work in the US.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Demonstrated experience developing in .Net/C# technologies.
• Experience with Linux based application performance testing – ability to determine impact an application will have on network latency and bandwidth disk IO and latency CPU memory etc. using COTS and Linux embedded toolsets.
• Demonstrated ability to work with customers to develop and test (MEMCM) application deployments for enterprise deployments to include lifecycle support for eventual application upgrade and removal.
• Ability to self-manage maintain virtual meetings and determine customer requirements while meeting project deadlines.
• Preferred experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal organizations
• Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. Must be eligible to work in the US

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience with Red Hat Satellite 6.X. Experience with Red Hat Ansible/Ansible Tower
• Experience with Server migration to include performance analysis and cloud sizing exercises.
