In this position, you will have a key role in the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of proprietary software applications. You will participate in the implementation of new applications and modifications to existing applications. Your main tools will consist of C#, ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, and working with Web API’s
RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge
Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle and project lifecycle principles. Working knowledge of C# and the .Net Framework to support web development. Must be comfortable with consuming web API’s. Experience with Scrum or Kanban.
Develop
Complete design, documentation, development, testing and debugging tasks working within a team. Contribute to the discovery of solutions and design to overcome challenges. Contribute to the success of development by gathering information, performing analysis, and contributing to technical requirements. Develop and implement other business optimization projects and solutions including enhancements and upgrades
Support
Provide development to support the priorities of the organization. Work directly with stakeholders and team members to refine requirements, aid the testing strategy, and resolve issues. Drive innovation through research of new and existing technology and process improvement. Work across departmental lines to improve Horace Mann development capabilities. Provide mentorship for software engineers and other team members.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Experience building web front ends is required. Must be comfortable with HTML / HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, bootstrap, jQuery. Four years development experience with C# and two years experience with ASP.NET MVC / Core. One year of experience with SQL. College degree in computer science or other technical field required or equivalent work experience.
