YOUR ROLE
In your role as a .Net Developer on the LTC Claims team, you will support Genworth's top strategic priorities and the critical systems necessary for Genworth to provide world class service to our policyholders when they need us most. You will work with our business partners and other IT teams for the support and development of LTC Claims Administration applications and services, delivering quality solutions to ensure the system can support complex business operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Serve as Application Developer supporting Long Term Care claims technology operations team by monitoring the system, working on reported incidents, supporting requests from users, resolving batch failures, fixing system defects, and maintaining the interactions of the application with other IT systems.
- Analyze incidents and requests raised by users to assist them with completing business activities, determine the impact of the issue and come up with solution proposals to formulate the right approach to solve the problem.
- Identify system defects or system performance issues and analyze requested enhancements. Design, Code, Document and Test solutions, ensuring that they meet acceptance criteria, do not cause unintended impact, and fit within the overall technical architecture. Support changes through the testing process, assist with test planning, defect resolution and technical system activities. Implement the solution following the established change control process.
- Create reports from the system data to perform data analysis, support business activities, and fulfil regulatory and audit requirements including SOX audits.
- Perform administrative duties in conjunction with the departmental requirements (participate in meetings, agile ceremonies (Kanban Stand Ups, Inspect and Adapt sessions etc.), respond to correspondence in a timely manner, provide status updates, review/update/submit tickets, participate in change management activities).
- Take ownership of work and collaborate with the team to ensure incidents are completed in a timely manner considering their severity, impact, and urgency. Assist team members in resolving complex business and/or technical problems. Provide technical advice on complex programming.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 4-year college degree and/or relevant equivalent experience with advanced SQL and data analytics skills, knowledge of .Net framework and production support experience preferably in insurance/finance domain
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment in cross functional teams preferably using Agile practices with the ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset, with ability to understand complex business logic, analyze the system and data, and understand impact of changes on the various system functionalities.
- Good communication skills ability to work with various stakeholders, and a proven track record delivering results while managing concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of the current technological trends and a continuous improvement mindset
NICE TO HAVE
- Practical knowledge of LTC insurance products and claims processing
- 4+ years' experience working with RDBM's (T-SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, etc) and .Net
- 4+ years' experience in SDLC and Agile Project Methodologies
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft IIS Server, Microsoft.Net, C#, .Net Core, Microsoft SQL server
- Exposure to web services (SOAP, RESTful, XML, JSON, etc)
- Experience in a managed services environment, managing to SLA's and managing work queues.
- Experience working with an onshore-offshore model
