Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Urgent CareLocation: Midland/Odessa,
TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician
Assistant (PA) to join our Urgent Care team in Midland/Odessa, TX. The ideal candidate will provide
high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, treating acute illnesses and minor
injuries for patients of all ages. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a
team of healthcare professionals while maintaining autonomy in clinical decision-making.
Key
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor
injuries, and urgent medical conditions.
Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision
and drainage, wound care, and foreign body removal.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs,
X-rays, etc.) and determine appropriate treatment plans.
Prescribe medications and provide patient
education on treatment, prevention, and follow-up care.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and
other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate and
up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
Recognize and escalate cases requiring emergency
care or specialist referral.
Ensure compliance with state and federal medical regulations and
clinical protocols.
Qualifications:
Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician
Assistant (PA) license in the state of Texas.
Completion of an accredited NP or PA program with
board certification (FNP, ENP, or PA-C).
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in urgent care,
emergency medicine, or primary care setting preferred.
Proficiency in suturing, splinting, wound
care, and other urgent care procedures.
Strong clinical decision-making, diagnostic, and
critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with the healthcare
team.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (or willingness to obtain).
Excellent communication and
patient interaction skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Electronic Medical Records
(EMR) systems.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
DEA license and ability to prescribe
controlled substances.
