Summary
Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor.

Conditions of Employment
- Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
- This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays.
- A valid state driverโs license and High School Diploma or equivalent.
- This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 45 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain food handlerโs certification, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
- Work may require climbing in and around equipment, moving towable equipment and organization of seasonal equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities
- Knowledge of goals, principles and techniques and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and entire scope of Community Recreation activities and their suitability for individuals, groups, ages and interests
- Individual must be responsible with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public
- Will need to collect and accurately record cash transactions, and operate a cash register.
- Flexible 0-40 hours per week, can include nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work all operational hours
Additional information
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
Participation in Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer within the first 30 days of employment is required. We utilize E-Verify to confirm selectee's eligibility to work in the United States.
This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies within 60 days of issuance of selection certificate. For positions requiring travel more than twice per year, selectee may be required to obtain and maintain in good standing a Government-issued Travel Card for official government travel purposes.
