Summary This position is located at Smith Lake Recreation Area, Fort Bragg, NC. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF pay setting rules apply to this vacancy. Learn more about this agency Duties Troubleshoots, performs and coordinates overall maintenance and repairs of all equipment and vehicles. Troubleshoots, performs and coordinates overall maintenance and repairs of small maintenance road vehicles, camping equipment, hand tools, small gas/electric motors and machinery and camper site water/electric systems. Performs camping area facility, grounds and rental equipment maintenance. Performs seasonal winterization/de-winterization, ground restoration, grass cutting, weed whacking, tree trimming, construction and maintenance of small buildings, custodial cleaning and rental equipment repairs. Basic knowledge and understanding of electricity, plumbing, carpentry repairs. Expertise to perform troubleshooting and routine repairs on gas/diesel engines and mechanical mechanisms. Requirements Conditions of employment Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR para.2, to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Incumbent is exposed to long period of extreme cold, wind and inclement weather, high levels of noise, slippery surfaces, day and night (in the winter). Work is performed both indoors in a workshop setting and outdoors on site in the summer months. This position has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP). As a condition of employment, incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test. Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split shifts. Work requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, climbing, stooping and working in uncomfortable positions. Lift and carries equipment and component parts weighing up to 50lbs and occasionally heavier. Assistance is available when moving equipment over 50lbs. Move snow guns and air/water hoses while operational and pressurized in excess of 350psi. Qualifications Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties to be performed as identified above to include the listed knowledge skills and abilities. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Minimum of two (2) years of experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement. NOTE: Local / Surrounding Commuting area is defines as within 50 miles of Fort. Bragg. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
