Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic surgical team in Dayton, OH. This is a 7-on/7-off schedule, although we are open to discussing alternative scheduling options with the right candidate. The position involves assisting in various cardiothoracic procedures and providing after-hours beeper call for consults and OR needs. This role requires experience in cardiac surgery and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced surgical environment.   In this position, you will assist in placing arterial and venous lines and support the removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABPs). You will also help with ECMO decannulation and occasionally assist with chest tube insertion under the supervision of the attending surgeon. Additionally, you will be responsible for after-hours beeper call, handling consults, and providing support in the operating room when needed. Collaboration with the surgical team and maintaining accurate patient documentation will be essential to the role.   Qualifications:   Licensure: Valid Ohio NP or PA license. Experience: Prior experience in cardiac surgery. Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support). BLS (Basic Life Support). Credentials: NP or PA credentials accepted.
