Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead efforts in continuous improvement
• Work with departments within the company to coordinate all activities within the company and resolve problems that arise during the manufacturing cycle.
• Analyze the operation of the shift to evaluate the performance and if the staff is meeting objectives. Takes a pivotal role in determining areas of cost reduction, program improvement and enforcing policies.
• Help to develop shift budget.
• Direct and coordinate business activities to ensure production of product at the correct pricing and quantities.
• Review daily production reports and develop a plan to resolve the issues identified in the report.
• Direct supervisors to perform work. Evaluate direct reports and develop corrective action for underperformers.
• Directs all manufacturing activities
• Train and develop supervisors and employees
• Coordinates efficient production schedules
• Control labor utilization
• Maintain current operational yields and labor standards
• Evaluate and recommend improvement in policy and procedure
• Maintain cordial relations with peers and employees
• Perform annual supervisor lead evaluations annually, preferably six months before review

• Coordinate compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
• Compile manufacturing budgets
• In the event of their absence, the responsibility is delegated to the Team Leader Production.
• Work closely with human resources manager in all disciplinary decisions
• Upgrade technical and management skills as deemed necessary
• Responsible for food quality, food safety and food defense.
• SQF Practitioner is responsible for training and implementation of food safety and quality product.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure weekly time sheets are correct

Working Relationship:

• Reports to Operations Manager. When absent Sr. Shift Supervisor is acting shift manager.
• Works with all aspects of the organization (Quality, Sanitation, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Admin)

Supervision:

• Supervises shift supervisors

Physical Demands:

• There will be some lifting involved.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills

• Education: BS degree in Business, manufacturing or related field preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in a supervisory position
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications (word, excel, power point)
• Six Sigma Black Belt
• Continuous Improvement Certification
