Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Serves as a Telecommunication Specialist responsible to the Commander, United States Army Signal Activity (USASA) Camp Roberts, 302d Signal Battalion. This position is located at Camp Roberts, CA . Three year trial/probationary period may be required. Position is designated as Non-Critical Sensitive. A SECRET clearance with SECRET access is required. Temporary Duty Travel of up to 20% is required. The incumbent will work on rotating shifts and must remain on duty regardless of weather, fire, earthquakes or other natural or man-made disturbances. This position is designated mission essential incumbent is required to report to work or remain on duty as scheduled regardless of weather, fire, earthquakes or other natural or man-made disturbances. Incumbent must be available on an on-call basis to provide immediate assistance in the event of an on-line system failure or other demands as required. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by troubleshooting telecommunications systems to ensure timely restoration of optimal telecommunications services; performing maintenance of telecommunications systems involving complex technical issues to ensure systems run smoothly; providing training on systems, equipment, services, and/or procedures to maintain a qualified staff. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
