Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, Arts and Crafts Shop, located at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas. This position is Flexible, guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. May include nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits. Learn more about this agency Duties Operates a variety of equipment used in the production of various types of arts & crafts including, but not limited to a V-Nailer, hand power tools, engravers, large format printers, heat and seal presses, matt/glass cutter, framing equipment, etchers, and more. Uses graphic design software such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, and others. Plans and carries out a variety of arts and craft programs and services to meet customer demand. This may include assisting with the creation of a new program/service ideas, determining program costs and fees/prices to charge, preparing marketing requests, and implementing them. Assists in the assembly of frames, mats, pictures, and plaques, and other items in support of other types of services offered. Safeguards and deposits funds as directed. Conducts periodic inventories and ensures inventory levels are adequate to prepare orders. Stocks merchandise received. Assists with monthly financial processes and reports. At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register, completes required paperwork and submits entire package to supervisor. Assists customers in placing special orders. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment, and funds assigned. Provides customer service, answers telephone, and assists shop users with craft skills development and work procedures. Maintains clean, neat, and safe work area. Inspects all shop equipment to ensure is operating correctly. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of equipment and procedures, knowledge of matting and framing techniques, computer graphics, or basic art layout is desired. Must have experience in using hand tools and simple mechanical equipment. Must have the ability to perform common math problems. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
