As a Nurse, you will:
Assist the project leader in a broad range of Quality Management (QM) and health care program inspections and evaluations.
Plan, coordinate, and/or conduct extensive pre-inspection clinical research, and provide appropriate guidance to non-clinical team members where such is needed.
Identify existing information sources from which to obtain a sufficient data base to facilitate the team's understanding of the clinical process or outcome to be inspected or evaluated and to identify possible clinical issues that require further development.
Plans and schedule project briefings and training sessions for all project participants. He/she will provide comprehensive clinically-based briefings including pertinent legislative and regulatory information, the perceived or actual status of the review entity, the effectiveness of internal control systems, and the existence and magnitude of any QM/clinical program problems.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Registration Requirement: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
AND
Education requirement: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
AND
Specialized experience for the GS-13 is one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position which includes:
- Providing clinical healthcare services requiring interpretation of various medical regulation and directives; AND
- Conducting healthcare audits, inspections, or program evaluations. AND
- Identifying quality care issues and making recommendations in accordance with medical and nursing guidelines and regulations.
Education
A degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed. The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Conditions of Employment (CONTINUED):
- A one year probationary period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
