Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, BIA Central Office in Lakewood, Colorado. This position performs a range of research, technical and providing administrative support services related to timekeeping, correspondence, travel, procurement, cost accounting, files and records management system. Learn more about this agency Duties As Administrative Support Assistant (OA), GS-0303, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Responsible for entering and retrieving financial data from an automated data processing system. Prepares a variety of reports, forms, and correspondence in final form from rough draft, written, and/or oral instructions. Serve as a primary point of contact to plan, coordinate, or advise on work efforts or to resolve operating problems. Maintain File Maintenance and Disposition Plan in accordance with applicable regulations. Prepare requisitions for office supplies, equipment, printing and services. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Requirements Conditions of employment U.S. Citizenship Required As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Qualifications EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, GS-03003). Qualification for GS-05: I have 1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include providing program and administrative support; operating office automation equipment in the preparation of a variety of reports, letters, memorandums, and transmittals; receive visitors and phones calls (screening/referring); take messages; arrange and schedules appointments; order supplies and equipment; maintain office filing systems; processed time and attendance records OR 4 years of progressively higher-level education leading to a bachelor's degree in an accredited business or technical school, college or university above high school in any field for which high school graduation or equivalent is a prerequisite. Qualification for GS-06: I have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include providing program and administrative support; operate office automation equipment in the preparation of a variety of reports, letters, memorandums, and transmittals; receive visitors and phones calls (screening/referring); make travel arrangements; purchase supplies and other materials; processed time and attendance records; prepare and process travel authorizations and vouchers, financial obligation documents, requisitions and status reports. Qualification for GS-07: I have at least 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include extensive knowledge in program planning, administrative support; receive visitors and phones calls (screening/referring); process time and attendance reports; audit obligations/requisitions and expenditures documents for validity; prepares requisitions and appropriate procurement documents to order office supplies, purchase equipment, and training courses; make travel arrangements; responsible for the maintenance of budgets, and financial records. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education which shows the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
