Learn more about this agency Duties As the Supervisory Quality Control Auditor, the incumbent provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the examination and evaluation of the IMCOM HQ Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation's financial controls, transactions, and reporting processes across Nonappropriated Fund instrumentalities. Responsible for planning and directing audit activities, establishing quality control standards, and ensuring organizational compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements. The supervisor oversees the execution of audits designed to detect errors, irregularities, or fraud; evaluates the effectiveness of internal controls; and ensures that staff verify transactions against supporting documentation. The incumbent reviews and approves detailed audit reports prepared in support of the Risk Management Internal Control Program, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and actionable recommendations. The position provides strategic oversight of AI powered continuous monitoring tools and automation platforms used to assess internal control effectiveness and identify risks in real time. Guides staff in applying automated testing methodologies, ensures proper use of technology, and validates the integrity of audit results. Regular, random, and targeted audits are scheduled, assigned, and reviewed to identify discrepancies, policy violations, or potential fraud. The incumbent leads the evaluation of existing financial controls and directs the development of improved procedures to strengthen operational integrity. Ensures that all financial transactions across the organization are properly documented, authorized, and accurately recorded. Reviews financial data analysis to identify trends, risks, and inefficiencies; validating compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies; and approving comprehensive reports that outline findings, risks, and recommended corrective actions for senior leadership. Performs the full range of supervisor functions and exercises personnel management responsibilities. Develops training to address knowledge gaps, and ensures the audit team maintains current expertise in financial management, internal controls, and compliance standards. ** Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 30 August 1993. QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position. Degree: Accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: 1. Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; 2. A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or 3. Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements. In addition to the above, applicants must possess the following experience: Previous experience in financial auditing, quality control, or a related field is essential, along with strong analytical and problem solving skills to interpret financial data and identify potential issues. Requires expertise in financial software, data analysis tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as meticulous attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documents and transactions. Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for presenting findings to diverse audiences. Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, financial auditing standards, and applicable policies and regulations. Supervisory or lead experience.
