Job Description
Summary
This position is located within a National Forest. The primary purpose of this position is responsible for packing supplies and equipment to backcountry locations by horse or mule. They are also responsible for the complete care of the stock, including training, feeding, shoeing, and first aid needs. The incumbent is also responsible for ranch and pasture management including the design, building, maintenance, and safety inspections of stock facilities.

- This is a Test Designated Position. You will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Appointment is based on a negative result. This announcement constitutes 30 days advance notice.

- Willing to live/work in remote locations (volatile/unpredictable).
- This position requires initial and continuing qualifications in the use of firearms as outlined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, amended by the Lautenberg Amendment of 1996.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Must obtain and show proof you have a valid herbicide applicators license.
