Summary
Remote telework outside of the commuting area is not authorized for this position. If you are offered and accept a position, you will be required to live in the commuting area prior to your first day of work. If you do not live in the commuting area, you must relocate.

Qualifications
For GS-04 positions: One year of Generalized Experience of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
For GS-05 positions: One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience at GS-05 is defined as; Performing financial duties that support the processing of financial/accounting transactions using standardized procedures to include reviewing documents for accuracy and inputting financial/accounting information into an automated system and correcting invalid/incorrect transactions.
For GS-06 positions: One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience at GS-06 is defined as; Applying knowledge of accounting systems, policies and procedures for the examination, verification and maintenance of accounts and accounting data; validating, monitoring and maintaining accounting transactions and accounting records; researching discrepancies and making adjustments.
Volunteer Experience: Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
Education
GS-4: SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Successfully completed Two years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the general experience requirement. To be creditable, education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. (You MUST submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim).
GS-5: SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Four years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. (You MUST submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim).
GS-6: SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Six months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
Combining Education and Experience
Applicants may have a percentage of the education and experience which when combined totals 100% of the necessary education and experience to qualify for this position. - This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position. IAW Public Law 112-81 and DoD Policy the incumbent shall comply with the requirements of DoD FM Certification Program. - Pay for first time hires to the Federal Government will typically be set at step 1 salary range for their respective grade level.
- The Security Designation will vary and dependent upon position and may require a secret clearance or higher. Employment in this position requires a background investigation which may delay starting date. If you are selected and cannot obtain a favorable security determination within a reasonable period of time due to disclosed/undisclosed background issues, the employment offer may be withdrawn.
