Summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Duties
Responsible for the execution of MCCS five-year construction and renovation program. Serves as the technical expert, representing MCCS to the general public on construction issues. Plans, organizes work schedules and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plan, budget, and inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes considered necessary. Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements. Reviews production, cost, and personnel utilization to evaluate progress of work, and to control or reduce expenses. Performs administrative duties related to the Section. Designs, implements and teaches the use of gant charts, critical path method charts and other methods to ensure the timely completion of projects. Directs the renovation and construction of buildings. Makes recommendations for design and material necessary for replacement, repair, additions, and new construction. Determines materials and equipment needed and prepares estimates of time, labor and costs. Responsible for scheduling and assigning work. Establishes priorities, determines manpower, tooling, material requirements, methods to be used, production techniques, quality and quantity of work performed, sequence and coordination of the various trade work involved. Counsels subordinate supervisors and employees, when necessary, determines training needs for all levels of the subordinate work force and encourages continued education. Prepares work performance appraisals, approves or disapproves leave. Endorses personnel action requests submitted by subordinate supervisors.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications
A minimum of 4 years in related trades experience as a journeyman, managing an independent company, branch or division. Organized, self-starter, with specialized experience performing a variety of trades related work independently. Demonstrated experience in supervising multiple work crews is required. Extensive knowledge of a variety of trades includes Carpentry, Painting, Welding and Masonry works. Possession of a Contractors license or knowledge of the Uniform Building Codes is preferred. Must possess basic mathematical skills to prepare estimates and maintain records of expenditures. Knowledge of standard inventory and supply procedures. Ability to estimate project operating costs. Ability to read and interpret Profit & Loss (P&L) statements. Prior P&L accountability, experience in purchasing, contracting or vendor negotiation, demonstrated experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously a supervisory experience preferred. Must demonstrate initiative.
Must file and initial an annual Confidential Financial Disclosure report (OGE form 450).
