2023 AI Security Intern

About This Role

We are seeking an AI Security Intern to join the Engineering Security team for the summer, 2023. The qualified candidate will be doing research and implementation of PoC for the security measures for our AI-powered projects. This person will work closely with Zoom's Security and Engineering teams to assess risks associated with AI technologies and propose security requirements, best practices, and solutions.
Your responsibilities may include:

• Conduct research on AI security trends and best practices
• Assist in the design and implementation of security measures for our AI-powered projects
• Participate in security review and security testing of AI systems
• Participate in the research and development of policies and procedures related to AI security
• Collaborate with the Security team to ensure AI implementation complies with security and privacy standards
• Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss AI security topics

Basic Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with an expectation that degree will be obtained between Dec. 2023 and July 2026
• Availability to complete the entire 12-week in-person internship program during summer 2023, with a time commitment of approximately 40 hours per week
• Familiarity with AI technologies and security risks associated with them
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• A passion for Zoom's mission, vision, values, and culture

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI security in best practices, design, implementation, and testing
• Understanding of cybersecurity and commonly known vulnerabilities such as OWASP's top 10
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages and development environments (e.g., Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Git, Docker, etc..)
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$25.75
Maximum:
$98.50
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
