2023 Communications Summer Internship

The Role   

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a diverse group of talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You’ll spend ten weeks with the newly formed Communications team, working directly with our Global Head of Communications on shaping how our people, our investors, our sell-side partners and our communities perceive and engage with Schonfeld. This is a great learning opportunity for someone looking for an introduction to the world of traditional and digital communications, while being immersed in the culture and atmosphere of Schonfeld and working alongside talented professionals on high profile projects. 

The Communications team at Schonfeld is responsible for the overall promotion and protection of our brand and works across media relations, social & digital communications, internal communications and employee engagement. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling, finance, and content creation. You will have a front row seat to the design and build out of our internal and external communications function and will be instrumental in the overall planning of all editorial content for the company and its footprint.  

What you’ll do    

• Develop external postings and communications, including copywriting for our website, press releases, and social media content for various platforms. 
• Generate internal content for our intranet page, newsletters, and additional content for employee distribution
• Profiling and promoting overall Schonfeld intern class journeys on our LinkedIn and Intranet channels
• Researching innovative Comms software, tools and systems to enhance and modernize our communications toolkit 
• Design and construct branding and marketing materials to exhibit internal data and benchmarking for various stakeholders 

What you’ll bring 

What you need: 

• Interest in gaining foundational knowledge of corporate communications, digital, and branding 
• Proficiency in design software such as PowerPoint, Canva, InDesign, Illustrator 
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, including journalism, communications, English, creative writing, economics, marketing, and finance 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

We’d love if you had: 

• A passion for financial journalism and storytelling 
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualization 

Our Internship 

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August. 

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience. We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors is a multi-manager platform that invests its capital with Internal and Partner portfolio managers, primarily on an exclusive or semi-exclusive basis, across four trading strategies; quantitative, fundamental equity, tactical trading and discretionary macro & fixed income.
