Job Description

WW is looking for candidates to help change people’s lives. We are a global wellness technology company inspiring millions of people to adopt healthy habits for real life. We do this through engaging digital experiences, face-to-face workshops and sustainable programs that encourage people to move more, shift their mindset and eat healthier while enjoying the foods they love. By drawing on over five decades of experience and expertise in behavioral science, we build communities in order to deliver wellness for all.

About our Summer Internship Program

WW / WeightWatchers’ 11-week, paid summer internship program provides robust opportunities for learning and professional development, networking, engagement with our leadership team, full immersion into our mission-driven business and more. Our collaborative office spaces are based in New York City, San Francisco, and Toronto, but we operate under a flexible, global work philosophy, “Work From Wherever,” which empowers our employees to shape when, where, and how they work to achieve the best possible results, while prioritizing their well-being. As a WeightWatchers intern, you will join a passionate, collaborative, purpose-driven team where you’ll gain unparalleled hands-on experience with meaningful project and cross-functional work and exposure within your function. Your contributions will play a role in our company’s overall success, giving you a direct opportunity to positively impact millions of our members’ lives. If you’re interested in learning more about our internship program, or if you want to hear directly from some of our past interns about their own experiences, check out our Tech Blog post here to discover more.

Who we are

We are the Corporate Communications team reporting into Communications and Impact and we are hiring a summer intern! We are a small but mighty team that keeps tabs on all things business media and reporters, conferences and events, and more. We’re also fully in the business of keeping our employees informed and engaged on what’s happening across WeightWatchers at any given time. We love hosting fun internal events to keep our employees connected (our last event included a mean karaoke party and fully equipped matcha bar!), and brainstorming creative ways to tap into the buzziest trends across our corporate and executive social media channels.

We are a passionate, hard-working, and agile group of storytellers, driven by a mission to inspire people to adopt healthy habits for real life. Once you get to know us, you’ll find a fun-loving, collaborative team that thrives in a fast-paced, often changing environment and believes in constant process improvement and innovative solutions.

What you will do

We are looking to hire a summer Corporate Communications intern to help our team with a number of internal and external communications projects and opportunities. As our Corporate Communications intern, you will gain real, hands-on professional and project experience with a well-known heritage brand, in addition to countless personal and professional development opportunities, and the opportunity to expand your skills and be exposed to leaders within the company at-large. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with overall department duties, including supporting and enhancing all external and internal communications projects

  • Assist with the creation of internal employee communications using Workplace from Facebook and Slack

  • Support the ideation and execution of employee events including Global Town Halls, leader Q&A sessions, external speaker series, fun cultural team bonding events and other team engagement activations and activities

  • Assist with brainstorming creative ideas to engage audiences on social and traditional media channels and support on the development of content calendars

  • Support with external reporter research, compile media lists and assist with development of proactive media materials (i.e., pitches)

  • Conduct research to support briefing documents for external executive speaking engagements and media interviews

  • Monitor traditional news and social media to keep the team informed of buzz-worthy trends and topics

  • Pull monthly reporting metrics for internal and external owned channels and track progress toward engagement goals that you will set at the start of the program

Who you are
  • Graduation date between December 2023 & May 2024

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • You are detail-oriented with strong oral/written communications skills

  • You can effectively multi-task and problem solve

  • Prior internship at a PR agency or in-house communications team preferred

  • Great interpersonal skills and a desire to learn and grow!

  • A passion for health and wellness and personal experience with WW / WeightWatchers, a plus!

The hourly range for this position is $25.00 to $30.00.
