Technical skills and competencies used by the DIRECTV Engineering and Operations team include: :

• Software development in Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Javascript (including Node and React), Java, GoLang, C/C++, Python or scripting languages (shell, groovy, perl, etc.);
• Linux operating systems, REST web services, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Big Data related analytics technologies
• Networking protocols, cybersecurity principals, cloud container orchestration with kubernetes, metrics and performance visualization

• Agile Development
• Application Design (Roku, AndroidTV, AppleTV, iOS, Android, Web, Etc), Architecture
• Application Development Tools
• Design Thinking
• Requirements Analysis
• Software Development Life Cycle
• Software Quality Assurance and developing automated testing tools

Interns will need to:

• Be able to comprehend and communicate technical problems both in writing and verbally
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to thrive in a team environment
• Have working knowledge of technical principles and excitement to learn DIRECTV technologies.
• Education: Must be enrolled in a STEM degree program (Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or equivalent) and have completed at least two years (completed Sophomore or Junior year).

Experience
Relevant coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, or Engineering.
Qualifications

• Must have completed at least 12 credit hours and pursuing a 4-year STEM undergraduate degree or working towards a STEM graduate degree
