Human Resources Intern


The Human Resources group is comprised of the Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Benefits, Compensation & Analytics, and Employee Relations teams. The group supports the full lifecycle of talent for the firm from hiring and onboarding through development and promotion. Summary       

As an intern in the Human Resources Department, you will gain broad exposure to areas such as Data & Analytics, Recruitment, Benefits, Employee Relations, and Training/Development.

Below are some of the duties an Intern in Human Resources may perform:

  • Assist with professional development processes, including training programs, training portals, educational assistance, and certification reimbursements.
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team with recruiting-related functions, projects and hiring logistics, with a particular focus around our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion efforts.
  • Assist with the entry-level recruiting process including tracking applicants, scheduling candidates for interviews and related follow up.
  • Support the new hire onboarding process, including integration scheduling, first day meetings, and employee data management.
  • Organize and analyze large amounts of data to assist in the creation, automation, and maintenance of talent management reports with a focus on people metrics and headcount dashboards. Utilize analytical tools to consolidate and audit enterprise-wide human capital data.
  • Support Analyst Training Program planning and execution.
  • Maintain employee records and files in external and internal systems.
  • The HR Intern will also take on one larger project over the course of the summer.  Previous projects have included automation of application and onboarding documentation, research and development of a Parent’s Resource group, and development of an online training syllabus for new analysts.

Professional Qualifications         

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Qualified candidates will be current sophomore pursuing a BA/BS with a concentration in Human Resources, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Psychology, Business Administration, Communication, Statistics, or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word; Excel; Outlook; Access; Power Point).
  • High degree of integrity and maturity with the ability to recognize the requirements of confidentiality.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and interact with all levels of management and associates.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Strong Excel skills required, including the ability to create macros, vlookups and pivot tables. Experience with R and/or Tableau a plus.
  • Ability to manage a significant number of projects simultaneously, and ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Outstanding time management skills; ability to respond to challenging requests.
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and last-minute requests.
  • Demonstrated team player, self-starter, and independent thinker.
  • The ability to take control and manage tasks independently to closure.
  • Attention to detail and concern for quality of final product (and ability to balance that concern with deadlines).
