Job Description
SUMMARY
As a member of the Grosvenor Internal Audit Team, the Intern will have opportunities to interact with a cross-functional group of internal stakeholders, Deloitte, and EY. The internship program is designed to provide exposure to Internal Audit and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) 404 processes and will conclude with the performance of a special.
RESPONSIBILITIESĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
The Internal Audit Intern will be involved in the following activities:
- Perform SOX walkthroughs for assigned areas, including developing an understanding of the historical and current processes, coordination of walkthrough meetings, preparation of process documentation and testing, and resolution of any review comments.
- Complete assigned tasks during the performance of an internal audit, including completion of control testing, development and presentation of audit observations, and coordination with the responsible stakeholders to develop managementās response to the observations identified, if applicable. - Work with Internal Audit Leadership to define and execute a special project involving the creation of a data analytics or continuous monitoring dashboard for a specific business function (i.e. Investments, Fund Finance, Corporate Accounting, Compliance, etc.), which can be leveraged by the department or executive management on a recurring basis. This project may involve:
- Coordinating with other interns across the organization.
- Understanding the availability of data within the organization and engaging with individuals across the organization to obtain the necessary information.
- Understanding key risks to the organization and the needs of IA and other stakeholders
- Development of the dashboard within Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, or other software.
- Presentation of final deliverable to members of management.Ā Ā Ā
- Liaise with a cross functional group of stakeholders in the performance of audit and continuous monitoring activities.
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with the departmentās policies and procedures.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or other relevant majors.
- Must be highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, and Workiva SOX and Internal Audit solutions is an added plus.
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of auditing and accounting.Ā
- Capacity to work well in a fast paced, changing environment with a high level of flexibility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to disseminate information effectively and articulate your thoughts in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability to take control and manage tasks independently.
- Attention to detail and concern for quality and accuracy of deliverables
- High degree of integrity and the ability to recognize the requirements of confidentiality.
- Demonstrated self-starter, continuous learner and independent thinker who can work collaboratively with others.
- Well organized and must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a cross functional team environment.
- Ability to think outside of the box to develop solutions to unique challenges.
