We are excited to offer an opportunity for a diverse group of talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. Youâll spend ten weeks with an experienced Product Management team within Schonfeld where you will be immersed in our culture, working alongside talented professionals contributing to high profile projects as a Business Analyst.
Product at Schonfeld is a dedicated grouping of Business and Technology personnel who enable a set of business capabilities. Product Management aims to achieve the alignment of Technology and Business, by acting in partnership with its stakeholders by emphasizing transparency and collaboration.
Our Product Management leaders drive vision and priority to represent âWhatâ to the technology teamsâ âHowâ. They are responsible for maintaining the Productâs roadmap and formalizing requirements for future platform developments and enhancements to drive the growth of the Schonfeld Platform.
Depending on your strengths, interest and fit, you will be assigned to one of the following Product teams:
- Risk Technology
- Operations Technology
- Project Management Leadership
What youâll doÂ
Work as a member of the Product team alongside the Product Owner and technologists. You will work as an Analyst, helping with the planning or orchestration of work occurring within the teams iterative Sprint planning. You will be introduced to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as learn how Schonfeld fosters an approach on planning that leverages the Agile methodology. This is a prime opportunity to gain domain experience across different functional areas supporting the Front, Middle and Back Office as well acquire valuable real-life exposure to various asset classes and how they function. Youâll also get a fundamental understanding of data workflow, visualization, distribution, storage and retrieval, gaining an appreciation for its investment value to a hedge fund at various stages in the trade life cycle.

    What you need:
- A curiosity for learning and a passion for defining problems and implementing solutions
- Excellent organizational, communication and listening skills
- Basic understanding of the Stock Market
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word skills
- A keen, analytical eye with a high regard for attention to detail
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Math/ Statistics, Information Technology, Data Science/ Data Analytics or Computer Science
    Weâd love if you had:
- Experience with Data Visualizations/UI Design
- SQL, Python, R, or any other programming/database querying language as this will go a long way in being able to excel at various projects during the internship
Our Internship
The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August.
Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience. We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeldâs core values in practice.
