2024 Digital Communications Summer Internship

The Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a diverse group of talented students to join the internship program at Schonfeld. You’ll spend ten weeks with the Communications team, shaping how our people, our investors, our sell-side partners and our communities perceive and engage with Schonfeld. This is a great learning opportunity for someone looking for an introduction to the world of traditional and digital communications, while being immersed in the culture and atmosphere of Schonfeld and working alongside talented professionals on high profile projects.

The Communications team at Schonfeld is responsible for the overall promotion and protection of our brand and works across media relations, social & digital communications, internal communications and employee engagement. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling, finance, and content creation. You will be instrumental in the overall planning of all editorial content for the company and its footprint.

What you’ll do 

• Graphic Design: Create graphics for internal and external communication channels, including our intranet, website, internal newsletters, event invitations and social media.
• Video Editing: Work on editing for internal and external facing videos.
• Content Development: Create content to feature and promote overall Schonfeld internship program on our LinkedIn and Intranet channels.

What you’ll bring

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design or a related field
• Strong understanding of design principles, layout, typography and color theory and knowledge of current design trends
• Proficiency in design and video editing software such as PowerPoint, Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• The ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

Our Internship

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August.

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience.  We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.

The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $50,000 and $60,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
