Job Description
The Role
We are seeking an exceptionally talented 2nd year college student to join the Accounting and Valuation Technology (AVT) Team as a summer intern. The AVT Team at Schonfeld is responsible for providing accurate T0 and T+1 position, P&L & transaction data via its shadow accounting system (Geneva) to various stakeholders, such as our Fund Accounting, Valuation, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Business Analytics teams. The AVT team also captures and reports based off Portfolio Manager and investor data, such as PM payout terms, investor allocations, etc. It also serves as the golden source for official close EOD prices for the rest of the firm.
What You’ll DoÂ
The Summer Intern will be responsible for helping to expand capabilities of the AVT tech stack. You will work alongside the Accounting and Valuation Product intern on an AI based document recognition proof of concept to automate ingestion, storage, and validation of investor documents. This intern will gain exposure to and work closely with stakeholders from the business, specifically our Tax & Fund Accounting Teams, as well as our Investor Relations group. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to solve problems and an interest in continuous improvement and learning.
What you’ll need
- Someone who has demonstrated software engineering skills
- Interest and experience in a programming language particularly Java
- Some basic knowledge of Git, and databases
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
- Interest in Capital Markets or Finance
- Strong interest in taking ownership of their work
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Our Internship
The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture.
Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience. We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $45,000 and $52,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
