Job Description

SUMMARY

Working as a member of the recently launched Sponsor Solutions team and its Elevate strategy, focused on direct private equity seeding and stakes transactions, the Sponsor Solutions Summer Intern will be involved in supporting all aspects of investments, including sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution and investment monitoring. In addition, the Sponsor Solutions Summer Intern will complete an extended summer research project focused on a thematic sector deep dive within the private equity seeding and stakes market. In addition, the Summer Intern will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with a variety of different functions throughout the Firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES           

The individual will be involved in the following critical responsibilities:

  • Assist in evaluation of Elevate transaction opportunities, including participating in all aspects of due diligence, financial analysis, term sheet negotiation, and drafting of investment committee memoranda.
  • Develop specific knowledge of North American middle market private equity seeding/stakes market trends and business opportunities.
  • Conduct industry and market landscape research to support investment activities.
  • Support the tracking and prioritization of investment opportunities.
  • Support Elevate fundraising efforts and client relationship management.
  • Maintain ongoing involvement with and provide support for existing firm founder partners.
  • Assist with special and ad-hoc projects (business development, business intelligence, investor relations, etc.) on an as-needed basis.
  • Complete extended summer research project focused on thematic sector deep dive within the private equity seeding and stakes market.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:

  • Currently pursuing a BA/BS with outstanding academic credentials and on track to graduate in either December 2024 or Spring 2025.
  • Applicable coursework, previous internship experience, or demonstrated interest in the field of finance and/or the alternative investments industry.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent work ethic and high degree of professionalism and commitment to team and a goal-oriented environment.
  • Superior organization, decision making and problem-solving skills with the demonstrated initiative and ability to manage tasks and projects independently from start to finish.
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects and work both independently and as a productive member of project teams.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization.
  • Highest ethical standards and integrity.
