2024 Summer Intern - Compliance

Kyowa Kirin is a fast growing global specialty pharmaceutical company that applies state-of-the-art biotechnologies to discover and deliver novel medicines in four areas of unmet need: oncology, nephrology, immunology and CNS/movement disorders. The North America organization includes three offices (in New Jersey and California) that focus on drug discovery, product development, and commercialization. We are currently seeking a graduate student Intern to join our team. As a Compliance intern, you will work closely with the Compliance and Legal teams and the areas of the business that we support: Commercial, Medical Affairs, etc. This position is a paid, temporary internship eligible to first-year Master’s student or first- or second- year Law student within a commutable distance of Princeton, NJ. This role is a hybrid role with some in-office time preferred. (will change based on job function)

Responsibilities:
•    Working closely with the Compliance team on assigned tasks 
•    Project work will include but it not limited to the following: 

o    Creating slide libraries of past enforcement activity and trends 
o    Building a reference guide on state related regulations, policies, etc. 
o    Collecting and analyzing data related to field-based activities
o    Advancing a dynamic Compliance Dashboard 
o    Assisting in the creation of new and updating of existing Compliance training, which include various formats:  slide decks, modules, and micro-trainings
o    Evolving documentation practices around compliance training / reviewing and analyzing existing training records 
o    Drafting and/or updating Compliance Policies, Guidelines, Forms, and Communications
•    Learning about our therapeutic areas and products and engaging in live compliance monitoring (field ride-along and/or Speaker Program)
•    Supporting the  drafting of a white paper related to Compliance topic of interest 
•    Helping to create and maintain a culture of compliance within the company

Requirements:
•    This position requires candidates to have completed the first year of a full-time Masters program in a health related area (e.g., Public Health, Health Policy, etc.) or a first or second year law student.
•    Curiosity in health care policy and legislation 
•    Ability to use technology to modernize our ways of working
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Interns are required to be able to work from May 28th - August 9th 
•    The ability to work a hybrid schedule is required 
•    Candidates are required to live within a commutable distance of Princeton, NJ.
•    This position requires that candidates be able to work in the United States on a permanent and on-going basis.
