Job Description
Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics is a rapidly expanding initiative with the objective of revolutionizing the retail landscape through robotics. Our development and implementation of the cutting-edge Alphabot® technology are currently underway, with deployment in stores across North America.
As an intern for the Electrical Engineer team at Walmart Advanced Systems and Robotics, you will join the Structure and IO electrical engineering team, helping with the manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, documenting, and deployment of electrical systems within the Alphabot system. The electrical engineering team is responsible for the full lifecycle design of all electrical systems across the structure and IO products from concept to full production and obsolescence.
Due to the multidisciplinary nature of robotics systems, this position not only requires working with electrical systems, but also with mechanical, software systems and other cross functional teams.
Every day, you will work on electrical sub-system designs, integrations, cable harnesses, documenting sub-systems, and frequently contribute hands-on in the lab building and debugging electrical systems, ranging from small test systems to fully integrated networks in the field.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Use layout and schematic tools to understand and test Power and Control network designs.
- Build test fixtures for electro-mechanical systems.
- Build and test cable harnesses.
- Run our diagnostics and other testing equipment/tools and software to debug issues.
- Operate lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies.
- Document electrical engineering sub-systems and test procedures.

- Ability to present results and conclusions.
- Detail oriented and a team player.
- Familiarity working with printed circuit boards and cable assemblies.
- Familiarity with Python and C.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-moving environment.
