Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin Outdoor Recreation. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida. Position is Regular Full-time (RFT) guaranteed 35-40 hours per week and schedule tour of duty may include nights, weekends and holidays. RFT employees receive benefits (Health/Dental/Vision Insurance; Life Insurance; 401K & AFNAF Retirement Plan with Employer matching contribution; PTO/SL/Holidays) Learn more about this agency Duties Responsible for the overall economic and efficient operation of Post'l Point and Outdoor Recreation (ODR) Equipment Rental activity. Reports directly to the ODR Director. Responsible for monies received through equipment rental fees and resale merchandise. Provides direction and oversight of the ODR Adventure Program. Implements higher-level directives, activities and services to be offered in addition to required basic programs. Ensures compliance with all state and local agency regulatory requirements. Analyzes all related costs and calculates process. Administers the business, financial, and recreational operation of the program within established policies and objectives. Coordinates with ODR Director to develop goals and objectives which meet agency intent. Assists ODR Director in developing both the appropriated funds (APF) and non-appropriated funds (NAF) budget for all aspects of operations. Analyzes financial results and maintains solid financial controls of assigned areas. Utilizes various automated software programs in researching, networking, exchanging information and establishing historical files of the program. Maintains daily sales revenue, operational funds, fixed assets, and property. Procures and/or initiates procurement documents for supplies and equipment. Maintains and ensures facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and in proper working condition. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Coordinates with Marketing department to design and develop publicity/marketing materials to promote use of facilities. Supervises all assigned personnel. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinate employees; plans and carries out the training and development of employees; evaluates employee work performance; recommends selections, status changes and disciplinary actions; plans and prepares schedules, coordinates work operations; approves/disapproves leave requests; explains management policies. Receives and resolves customer complaints, referring more complex/difficult situations to supervisor for resolution. Performs other duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs. Must have specialized experience working in an Outdoor Recreation activity to include knowledge of equipment, rules and procedures in the area supervised. Experience in outdoor adventure program is highly desirable. Must have knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, e.g., boater and camper safety. Certifications in Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace, and American Canoe Association are desirable. Must have previous supervisory experience. Must be proficient in computer word processing software and use of office equipment. Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up 40 pounds. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement..
