Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST, T59046P1 and is part of the Oregon National Guard 173rd Fighter Wing, National Guard.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1: All on board permanent and indefinite T5 federal employees within the Oregon National Guard
Area 2: All on board permanent and indefinite T32 federal technicians within the Oregon National Guard
Area 3: All current non-permanent technicians/employees (T5 and T32) of the Oregon National Guard
Area 4: All current and former members of the Oregon National Guard (former members must provide documentation showing membership in the Oregon National Guard such as an NGB 22 or DD214)
Area 5: U.S. citizens
GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have 1 year equivalent to at least GS-9. Work includes advising on, administering, supervising, managing, or performing professional and scientific work in industrial hygiene, including the identification and evaluation of conditions affecting the health and efficiency of employees, or the citizens of the adjacent community, the formulation and recommendation of measures to eliminate or control occupational health hazards, and the promotion of occupational health programs for instructing and motivating managers and employees in the prevention as well as correction of potential health hazards.
Education
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
A bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences,
or
related science;
or
A bachelor's degree in a branch of engineering, physical science,
or
life science that included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene; Courses in the history or teaching of chemistry are not acceptable.

Certification from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (formerly known as American Board of Industrial Hygiene) (www.aiha.org).
The education must be accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education https://www.ed.gov/laws-and-policy/higher-education-laws-and-policy/college-accreditation at the time the degree was obtained.
All science or engineering courses offered in fulfillment of the above requirements must be acceptable for credit toward the completion of a standard 4-year professional curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in science or engineering at an accredited college or university. For engineering degrees to be acceptable, the curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) as a professional engineering curriculum.
