  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National & provide proof of U.S. Citizenship (Birth certificate showing birth in the U.S; Unexpired U.S. Passport; Certificate of Citizenship or Naturalization; or Report of Birth Abroad of a U.S. Citizen, Form FS-240).

  • The position requires the successful candidate to undergo personnel vetting, including a background investigation & enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting results in automated record checks being conducted throughout employment with Treasury. The candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from FBI of criminal matters (e.g. arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.   • Complete Declaration for Federal Employment to determine suitability for Federal employment, when requested.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires 2 forms of identification from Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of identity & employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. These documents must be unexpired original or certified copies.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty & responsibility equivalent to GS-05 grade in Federal service. Specialized experience for the position includes: Experience applying a working knowledge of graphic design and/or print/electronic publishing processes proficiently using current versions of graphical software applications (in both Mac & Windows environments) such as InDesign, Photoshop, & Illustrator using master pages & style sheets & other software resources to apply design standards elements, including logotype, typesetting fundamentals, & color onto the designs of electronic & print products. Experience using standard graphic design industry tools, e.g., Pantone Matching System, understanding of color theory application, photo libraries to develop products. Experience writing business style correspondence, e.g., writing narratives to explain & defend design proposals/formal presentations, business reports, operation reviews, vendor correspondence, statements of work, developing design briefs & responding to business correspondence inquires.

OR

You may substitute education for specialized experience with 1 year of graduate education in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. OR Superior Academic Achievement is met by having a Bachelor's degree, with 1 of the following: A GPA of 2.95 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.45 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty & responsibility equivalent to GS-07 grade in Federal service. Specialized experience for the position includes: Experience providing guidance to customers in regard to the visual display of defined factual data in accordance with established rules & guidelines. Experience assisting customers in creating visual designs that meet established goals & fall within accepted timeframes. Experience coordinating with stakeholders (e.g., law enforcement personnel, attorneys) to determine how best to graphically present data. Experience offering suggestions on how to best plan, coordinate & carry out assignments. Experience applying a working knowledge of graphic design and/or print/electronic publishing processes proficiently using current versions of graphical software applications (in both Mac & Windows environments) such as InDesign, Photoshop, & Illustrator using master pages & style sheets & other software resources to apply design standards elements, including logotype, typesetting fundamentals, & color onto the designs of electronic and/or print products. Experience using standard graphic design industry tools, e.g., Pantone Matching System, understanding of color theory application, photo libraries to develop products. Experience writing business style correspondence, e.g., writing narratives to explain & defend design proposals/formal presentations, business reports, operation reviews, vendor correspondence, statements of work, developing design briefs & responding to business correspondence inquires. Experience meeting with stakeholders on basic design elements & visual graphics that summarize, and display provided information meets the customer's needs. Experience presenting completed assignments for review prior to use in high-level meetings/conferences, international focus, promotional needs, briefings, press conferences and various additional graphic needs such as internal assignments to meet the overall mission. Experience incorporating established style standards that retain the overall requirements for published products in print & other media can be used to optimize quality or enhance communications to stakeholders. Experience working with other trained technical personnel in a laboratory setting.

You may substitute education for specialized experience with: master's or equivalent degree in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position OR 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a degree in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position from an accredited college or university. OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11: You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty &responsibility equivalent to GS-09 grade in Federal service. Specialized experience for the position includes: Experience providing guidance to customers regarding the visual display of defined factual data and/or courtroom evidence in accordance with established rules & guidelines. Experience providing consultation to customers from various areas when ascertaining the general nature of their desired product, anticipating problems, & establishing deadlines. Experience determining how best to graphically present material e.g., evidence. Experience offering suggestions & influencing decisions based on experience, knowledge, artistic skills, & expertise. Experience revising materials to reflect changes, e.g., prior to & during courtroom proceeding, briefings for customers, etc., as needed & in accordance with permitted rules of evidence & standard techniques & applicable formats both electronically & via other media. Experience meeting with stakeholders on design elements & visual graphic that summarize & display the information and/or evidence which meet the customer's needs. Experience working within these parameters to formulate ideas & to plan, design & produce visual materials that meet all requirements. Experience presenting completed assignments for use in high-level meetings/conferences, international focus, promotional needs, briefings, press conferences & various additional graphic needs. Experience creating visuals in support of special investigations, covert/discreet surveillance etc. Experience incorporating established style standards that retain the overall organization requirements. Experience demonstrating how published products in print and/or other media can be used to optimize quality or enhance communications to stakeholders. Experience working with other trained technical personnel in a laboratory setting.

  • Alternative work schedule, staggered work hours or telework may be available.
