Summary The Office of Public Affairs is seeking a Communications Specialist (Social Media Manager) in the Digital Innovation and Design Group. As a Social Media Manager, you will shape, execute, and optimize social media for both the agency and Chairman, managing content creation, publishing, analytics, and social listening to meaningfully and regularly engage key stakeholders. Learn more about this agency Duties In this role as a Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for: Producing high quality social media content - including visual content and copy - for SEC and Chairman channels. Developing and executing content strategies that support SEC priorities and engage key audiences. Managing daily posting and scheduling across official platforms, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with SEC requirements. Monitoring and reporting performance metrics and trends to refine content and inform leadership. Coordinating with the Director of Digital and divisions/offices to ensure content reflects approved messaging and meets policy standards. Tracking and responding to emerging events, misinformation, and time sensitive communication needs on social media platforms. PROBATIONARY PERIOD: This appointment may require completion of a one-year probationary period. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: SK-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level. Specialized experience includes: 1) Managing or operating social media channels for a brand, person, or organization, including responsibilities related to publishing, scheduling, cross-team coordination, or account maintenance; AND 2) Supporting, developing, or coordinating planned communications campaigns, strategies, or content rollouts; AND 3) Using social media management or analytics tools. The overall salary range listed above is provided for informational purposes; a selectee's initial pay will be established below the maximum rate of the range.
