Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Golf Course on Nellis AFB,NV. Flexible employees have no guaranteed hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. This position does not offer benefits. Ability to lift and move heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds. Learn more about this agency Duties Performs significant labor involved with golf course grounds maintenance. Operates heavy, complex riding lawn mowers and similar types of specialized mowing equipment and/or specially designed riding mowers that operate on slopes and require constant attention to working space and environment. Operates various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift, lower, adjust, engage, and disengage components or attached devices when working around: trees, greens, aprons, tees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, cart paths, sand bunkers, tee markers and cups on greens, trenches, slopes, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles. Completes all aspects of special assignments involving several steps, phases or detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground, laying sod, planting flowers or shrubs and using simple drawings to establish a planting pattern and/or design). The laborer installs forms and lays walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes; excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools; repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation systems; and may be asked to operate mowers, dump trucks or other equipment. The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess a valid state driver's license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has physical requirements which require the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
