Job Description
Job Objective:
Monitors, maintains, and controls the safe, healthy and environmentally sound operations of the gas /oil pipelines, facilities, and equipment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews and monitors prior shift, to check for accuracy, daily computer log and scan process board.
- Monitors and maintains operations by measuring and regulating flow of product.
- Monitors and maintains pipeline by conducting studies and inspections.
- Execute maintenance and special pigging operations, including pig cleaning and maintenance.
- Execute pipeline surveys, valve and equipment maintenance. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintain operator qualifications and associated documentation to support pipeline regulatory compliance.
- Prepares pipeline reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Inspects equipment for safety problems, leaks, wear and tear, and makes or recommends appropriate repairs and maintenance.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by practicing pipeline standards, adhering to legal regulations, and conducting inspections.
- Monitors and maintains logs of meter readings, test results, and adjustments made.
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Five (5) years minimum pipeline experience with a combination of Gas and Liquid pipeline operations.
- Ability to accurately solve problems.
- Ability to work a 12-hour, Fourteen (14) days on / Fourteen (14) days off, schedule.
- Ability to travel, and to work and stay in remote field locations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to perform work assignments with little or no supervision.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Ability to accurately perform tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders such as upstream partners, vendors, and agencies.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Ability to make independent, rational decisions, as required.
- Ability to maintain the integrity of the pipeline systems.
- Ability to work alone and highly motivated.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around process areas. Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
- Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
Education Requirements:
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
