Job Description
IT Systems Analyst will implement, maintain, and support scalable IT systems to meet the business needs of the business functions at Hilcorp, focusing on data modeling, architecture, processing, and reporting. They will work closely with application stakeholders to understand business processes, function terminology, and data workflows. She/he is responsible for understanding technology needs and challenges, coordinating delivery of projects that align with Hilcorp IT best practices, and leveraging Hilcorp IT systems & services in support of business strategy. She/he will leverage analytical and problem-solving skills to develop specifications and requirements for solution architects & developers to follow. This individual will analyze, understand, and document the requirements of solution development projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they are completed within their planned scope, schedule, and budget by coordinating required resources.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Represent and understand the needs of Asset teams to technical planning groups in IT.
- Consult with business units and review IT usage, services, technology, and department-specific projects to identify, forecast, and develop IT needs.
- Oversee all project phases from conception to completion, including scope changes, and keep users engaged through different communication channels.
- Ensure that IT Operational software and tools meet or exceed user expectations.
- Establish relationships within IT, business units, and vendors during evaluations and negotiations to identify potential issues and risks.
- Coordinate the use and delivery of IT services to business users in each Asset.
- Performs other IT projects as assigned.
- Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
- Manage activities in Azure DevOps Project(s), including Epics, Features, and User Stories
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule and attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
- Ability to be available 24 hours daily (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
• Three (3) years minimum experience with E&P applications and tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Technical expertise with data models, data engineering using SQL, Python
• Working knowledge of cloud application infrastructure
• Ability to conduct application troubleshooting
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public
• Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities with minimum supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a specific ability to translate complex information systems into an organized and presentable manner
• Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced and demanding work environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to travel to remote locations via large and small planes, helicopters, or boats. Expectations are occasional trips to asset locations
• Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
• Required: Microsoft Office, understanding of Oracle / SQL databases.
• Required: Working knowledge of oil and gas industry applications and processes.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in information technology, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Additional experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Preferred - AWS Certified Solutions Architect
